As Prime Minister Mark Carney promotes projects of national significance, the first round of investments (from LNG to copper mining to small nuclear reactors) has already raised environmental questions. At the same time, recent policy shifts like suspending the 2026 EV mandate and ending the carbon rebate have heightened concerns about Canada’s climate commitments.
