Federal govt highlights investments in AI training for clean energy workers – September 9, 2025
Patty Hajdu, the minister of jobs and families, holds a news conference in Edmonton to highlight $28.7 million in investments to support clean energy and AI innovation. Through the Sustainable Jobs Training Fund, $9 million will help nearly 5,000 energy workers gain AI and machine learning skills for careers in renewable energy. An additional $19.7 million will expand the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute’s access to advanced computing, accelerating AI research and commercialization.
She is joined by Eleanor Olszewski (minister of emergency management and community resilience), Evan Solomon (minister of artificial intelligence and digital innovation) and Cam Linke (CEO of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute).
