MPs comment on the return of Parliament, upcoming federal budget – September 15, 2025



MPs speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as they convene for the first daily question period in the fall 2025 sitting of the House of Commons.

Justice Minister Sean Fraser outlines key pieces of legislation the Liberal government intends to introduce in this sitting of Parliament.

Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne and NDP MP Leah Gazan comment on the upcoming federal budget and potential cuts to public spending being promised by the federal government.

Conservative MPs Pierre Paul-Hus and Jacques Gourde, NDP MPs Gord Johns and Alexandre Boulerice as well as Liberal MP Mona Fortier speak about their respective party’s priorities for the return of Parliament.

Liberal MPs Taleeb Noormohamed and Marc Miller face questions on public protests around Parliament Hill and on whether additional security is required for MPs. This comes in the wake of increased incidents of political violence in the United States.
